Lesson 1: Don't talk about you.  Talk to your audience about their lived experiences and why they're stuck.

When they see themselves in your words, they take action.

Start here with my Find Your Perfect Pupil Video

Hi I'm Erin....

..... I work with freelance teachers who know they’re good at what they do but struggle to explain it online.  Why?

They put on their professional armour and ask themselves, 'what should I write?' instead "how do I write like myself?"

And the first thing I want to tell you is this:

You’re not bad at business.

You’ve just been taught to edit yourself out of your posts, with a polished exterior that strips away your personality.  Think about it....

You were trained with rigid structure, to produce outstanding lessons, follow your plan, get everything right.

So your posts tell us what you do, not who you are.

The result? You sound like every other teacher promising to build confidence and fluency.

Know how I know?

I was doing the same thing:  posting 5 times a week, giving away 'how to grammar' tips, sounding warm, posting pictures of my morning coffee… just like every one else.

Here's the truth: you already know how to teach.  You might even have your own trademarked method (great job, by the way).

But what you haven’t been shown is how to translate that into messaging to make your Perfect Pupil feel seen and understood - to the point where they go, "Shit, that's me!  So that's where I've been going wrong!"

This is when The Shift happens and your audience stops scrolling.

The teachers who attract the right clients aren’t necessarily posting more.
They’re crystal clear on who they’re speaking to and what changes after working with them.

And more importantly, they haven't lost who they are doing it.  In fact, they show who they are.

In a world of humourless. sanitized AI posts, sounding like a human is more important than ever.

My work is about small shifts that change everything:

✅Write like you're speaking across the table from your audience instead of through a screen

✅ Move from “helpful tips” to showing why you're the only teacher to work with
✅ Name your audience's real problem — not just the surface one of 'you need more confidence'.  They already know that.  It's your job to tell them why
✅ Show your process, not just your offer - talk them through your unique method and why it's different to everything else they've tried
✅ Write posts that trigger instant recognition, not just a bit of nodding  and scrolling on
✅ Write posts that make your audience feel recognised, not just 'informed' with a "phrasal verb of the day" post

If you’re tired of sounding like every other “confidence” teacher online
and you're just, well, plain bloody tired of posting, working, prepping and lifing.....with very little to show for it ....

.....I 'm here for you.   You’re in the right place.

So, how did I end up here?

After years of teaching in four countries and running development workshops for schools and organisations, I realised something important.

Teachers are struggling.  Financially, emotionally, and time-ly (yes I know that's not a word).

I was watching brilliant  freelance teachers struggle to explain the value of what they do and attract more students.

I kept seeing the same pattern:

Sanitized and samey "I'm a confidence and fluency coach" posts.

Teachers explaining what they do without showing who they are.

Warm but vague captions that never quite moved their audience to act.

If you're reading this and thinking 'Ouch',  good.  Not in a mean way, but in a 'I'm glad you're having a lightbulb moment' way.  None of this is your  fault. You've gone into Teacher With a Business Mode and you're doing your best to sound competent and polished.

But your warmth, humour and general loveliness has disappeared in an attempt to sound like A Professional.  But listen....who would you rather buy from?

A teacher who helps you struggling with fluency and 'here's my course'.

OR

A teacher who write so specifically,  they give their  audience the "That's Me" Moment, immediately following up with the "Aw Crap, That's Where I've Been Going Wrong" Moment.

Stay with me....

You need clear ways to:

Name what you actually do
Show how it’s different
Communicate the transformation — not just the features

Not in a bro-marketing way, or a (God forbid)  “post every day” way.

No. In a way that makes sense to your Perfect Pupil AND to you.  Because you're knackered enough as it is.

When you understand how your messaging works,
you stop guessing. You stop over-explaining. You stop attracting the wrong people.

And you start being chosen on purpose.  Because you're you.  Not someone you think you should be.

"I was feeling stuck and unsure about what to focus on, having completely lost my direction after weeks of running in circles and trying every possible option I could think of. But my session with Erin really helped me gain clarity.

She guided me to identify the most important priorities and gave me the direction  I needed to move forward with my tasks. I left the session feeling confident, with a clear plan in mind and a solid understanding of what truly matters.".

When I'm not teaching....

  • I'm pruning my flowers
(I'm particularly partial to a black petunia)
  • Being a dog Mum to a  Husky called Willow (don't really have much of a garden anymore...)
  • Having a game of Scrabble, Rummikub or Risk
    (Risk is my favourite)
  • Watching any season of Rupaul's drag race
    (it’s my happy place)
  • Listening to a podcast
(true crime – yep, I’m one of those weirdos)

How do I have time for all of this?
Because work-life balance is a priority for me,
and I’m committed to making sure it is for you too.
